Terms of use
Vocational Index is free to use. These terms explain what it is, and what it is not.
Last updated September 30, 2026.
Information, not advice
Vocational Index presents public data about careers, degrees and the labor market. It is general information, not career, financial, legal or educational advice. It cannot account for your circumstances, and it does not tell you what to choose. For decisions about your education, money or career, talk with people who know you and your situation.
Accuracy
We work hard to report data accurately and to name every source. But source data can contain errors, projections are uncertain by nature, and figures describe national averages that may not match any single person, program or place. Check important numbers with the original source, which every page links to. If you find a mistake, please report it.
Third-party data
Data comes from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Department of Education (College Scorecard and NCES) and O*NET. Career pages include information from the O*NET® 31.0 Database by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (USDOL/ETA), used under the CC BY 4.0 license; Vocational Index has modified some of this information. These agencies do not endorse Vocational Index.
